Function Rooms

The Harberton Room, which seats 120 people comfortably, is an ideal room for conferences, seminars, promotional presentations, exhibitions, fashion shows, musical evenings and, of course, weddings. French windows lead to the flagstone patio area and gardens outside, adding to the flexibility of the venue. A bridal suite is available on the first floor.

The first floor Higgin Gallery hosts many art events each year. Exhibitions are always on view, including work from Art Societies, Associations, Groups and solo artists. A full gallery programme is available and arrangements can be made for exhibitions.

The Hilsborowe Room upstairs is truly the ‘room with a view’. It takes its name from the 17th century fort on the same site, built by Sir Moses Hill, who no doubt enjoyed a similar panoramic view available to today’s visitor. It is an elegant room for meetings, presentations, receptions and dinners, and is often used by wedding parties in conjunction with the adjoining Higgin Gallery on the landing and the Harberton Room downstairs.

The Montgomery Room, also on the first floor, and named after a one time tenant, is business like and stylishly furnished. It is suitable for small or private conferences, working breakfasts, lunch meetings or dinners.

The first owner of the house William Legge is remembered in the William Legge Room, a multi-functional room which adds a further dimension to the house. This room can be used for meetings, receptions and lunch or dinner and it has been recently refurbished, allowing access to the gardens.
